Woman accused of trafficking fentanyl from Lexington appears in Montgomery County court
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A woman accused of trafficking fentanyl from Lexington appeared in court Thursday in Montgomery County.
According to court records, 38-year-old Megan Johnson was scheduled for an arraignment at 11 a.m.
As previously reported, Johnson was arrested over the weekend during a traffic stop in Mount Sterling.
Investigators say officers pulled Johnson over after receiving a tip that she was allegedly transporting large amounts of fentanyl from Lexington to Montgomery County.
Authorities say Johnson allegedly attempted to conceal a bag of suspected fentanyl after being taken to the Montgomery County Detention Center.
The case remains ongoing.
