With 196 new cases, Fayette can’t shake COVID spread

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Fayette County, like the state, can’t fully shake the rapid spread of the coronavirus through the community.

According to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department’s morning report Thursday, 196 new cases were confirmed in the county Wednesday. That increased the total number of cases to 27,563 since March.

The county reported three new deaths, increasing the number of people lost to virus-related causes at 179.

The health department updates the Lexington COVID-19 numbers, with charts and graphs for additional information, Monday-Saturday at lfchd.org.
