A wish comes true for a girl battling a brain tumor
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some of us wish to be richer, to have hair, or to be skinnier, but often we take the little things for granted.
A nine year old girl in Lexington who’s battling a brain tumor isn’t taking anything for granted.
Kadence Carr was five when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Her aunt says doctors tried surgery but the tumor was too big.
Kadence started doing chemotherapy three times a week for an entire year. She lost all of her hair and her bones became brittle.
After a year of chemo, the tumor stopped growing but about two years later it started getting bigger again.
Now, Kadence takes a chemo pill at home.
“She’s positive about everything,” said Erma Helton, Kadence’s aunt.
She doesn’t let a brain tumor stop her from doing what she loves.
She told Make-A-Wish she wanted two life like dolls and she got them.
“Awesome, amazing, happy,” said Kadence Carr.
She went on a shopping spree for her baby dolls and had a baby shower.
She says she feels lucky Make-A-Wish helped her dream come true.
