Windstream Holdings files for Chapter 11 protections
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Windstream Holdings, a Little Rock-based provider of telecommunications services including broadband, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protections on February 25th.
According to the Hearld Leader, Windstream brought one-gigabit Internet service to Lexington in 2015, months after it announced that it’s Kinetic TV’s broadband service would compete with Spectrum cable in Lexington.
Lexington was Kinetic TV’s second market, after Lincoln, Nebraska.
Windstream said it had received a commitment from Citigroup Global Markets Inc. for $1 billion in debtor-in-possession financing to support its continuing business operations.
