Winchester Offering Transportation Assistance for Essential Workers

WINCHESTER, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Beginning Saturday afternoon and continuing through Monday, the City of Winchester will offer transportation assistance to first responders, hospital personnel, emergency care employees, and other essential workers who need help getting to and from work.

Officials say the service will also be available, as resources allow, to assist residents who need emergency medications picked up.

City officials note that transportation services will be dependent on availability and prioritized alongside other calls for service. Those needing assistance are encouraged to provide as much notice as possible to help crews plan accordingly.

Requests can be made by calling the city’s non-emergency line at (859) 745-7400.

Officials are urging residents to stay safe and to avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary during the weather event.
