Winchester man acquitted of kidnapping and sexually abusing teen

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Winchester man who was accused of kidnapping a teenager from a school in Lexington and sexually assaulting her last May, was acquitted on Tuesday, according to the Fayette Circuit Clerk’s Office. Joshua Rayburn maintained his innocence throughout.

According to court documents, Rayburn first told police he hadn’t picked anyone up, but later admitted to picking up the teen at a shopping center on Old Paris Road, near Bryan Station High School, and giving her a ride. That’s the general area the teen described walking to after leaving school. But from the day of his arrest, Rayburn denied ever having any sexual contact with the teen.
