Wilmore police: Traffic stop nets more than 2 pounds of cocaine

WILMORE, Ky. (WTVQ) – Wilmore police seized a large amount of cocaine during a traffic stop on Tuesday.

Police say they stopped a vehicle around 4:30 p.m. and discovered 2.6 pounds of cocaine and $1,400 in cash in the car.

Officers then served a search warrant at 802 Woodspointe Way in Wilmore and say they found more than 220 pounds of marijuana packaged for resale, along with approximately $25,000.00 in cash.

A 2001 Jaguar was also seized.

Officers arrested 29-year-old Jose Edgar Chavez Gomez and charged him with trafficking cocaine and marijuana along with possession of drug paraphernalia.
