Wilmore Police involved in fatal shooting overnight
WILMORE, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Wilmore man was shot and killed overnight after troopers say he pointed a gun at local police.
It happened on Hinkle Street. Troopers say Wilmore officers were responding to a potentially suicidal man. When they got there, troopers say the man was outside the home and pointed a gun at an officer. They say that’s when police fired back.
The Jessamine County Coroner says 40-year-old Michael Foster was fatally wounded. An autopsy will take place Monday.
Troopers say both Wilmore police officers have been placed on administrative leave.
