Will new state education board members fire commissioner?
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The recently ousted Kentucky Board of Education members requested an injunction to stop the process of being replaced.
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, a judge in Frankfort denied the request, but the former board members are expected to appeal the decision.
The new board will meet tomorrow to discuss firing the current Kentucky Education Commissioner, Wayne Lewis.
Lewis says he’s been the target of “personal attacks and personal smears,” according to the report.
Lewis also says he would need 90-days written notice before he can be terminated without cause from his contract, according to the newspaper.
