Widow Of KY Judge Testifies In Congressional Hearing On Meningitis Outbreak
The widow of a Kentucky Judge testified Wednesday at a Congressional hearing on the recent deadly meningitis outbreak.
Joyce Lovelace testified about the September 17th death of her husband, Circuit Judge Eddie Lovelace.
Eddie Lovelace had a stroke that has been linked to steroid injections from a Massachusetts-based company called NECC.
Joyce Lovelace told the committee, "These are human beings that these committee, the FDA, the NECC — whoever is responsible, I want them to know their lack of attention to their duties cost my husband his life. Cost my family. Cost them a loss that we’ll never recover from."
NECC, which is short for the New England Compound Center, is now closed.
Its Co-Founder took the Fifth Wednesday and did not answer questions during the hearing.
