Whooping cough reported in Lexington high school

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – School officials are on high alert after a case of pertussis was reported Friday at a Lexington high school.

Frederick Douglas High School sent out a letter to parents about the reported whooping cough.

The letter urges parents to keep their child home if they are coughing, even if students have been vaccinated, and not to let them return until they are cleared by their doctor.
