Whitley Co. Sheriff asking for help finding car theft suspect

NANCY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Whitley Co. Sheriff says he’s looking to the public for help locating a woman he says took a car out for a test drive and never came back.

According to the Sheriff, 30-year-old Laurel Lee Colley, of Hickory Nut Road in Nancy, went to Cumberland Falls Auto along US HWY 25 on Wednesday at about 12:30 p.m., and took a black 2005 Chevrolet Equinox out for a test drive.  The lot owner says that Colley never returned.

Meanwhile, the Sheriff says that the car Colley left at the lot, a 1994 white Nissan, was reported stolen to the Pulaski Co. Sheriff’s Department back in July.  Furthermore, Colley has an active arrest warrant, also out of Pulaski Co.

The Sheriff says the car Colley took has a Kentucky plate reading X7509B.  No photo of Colley was available at the time of this writing.
