LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- NBA Playoff action continues this weekend with several former Kentucky players in the mix to win a league title. Five Wildcats are in action as soon as Friday night for the next slate of games.

In the East

Karl-Anthony Towns and the third seeded New York Knicks host the Boston Celtics on Friday at 8 p.m. on ESPN with a chance to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals as they have a 3-2 series lead.

If New York were to win, then Towns would face off against fellow former Cat Isaiah Jackson and the fourth seeded Indiana Pacers in the next series for a shot at the NBA Finals.

Out West

Three Cats are battling in the Western Conference for a shot at the NBA Finals too.

Julius Randle and the sixth seeded Minnesota Timberwolves already have their spot in the Western Conference Finals booked after beating the Golden State Warriors 121-110 to win the series 4-1.

If the T-Wolves win it all, rookie Rob Dillingham will have won an NBA title in his first season in the league having spent time playing for both Minnesota and the Iowa Wolves in the G League.

On Sunday, a matinee between the Denver Nuggets and the Oklahoma City Thunder will see Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jamal Murray battle for a winner-take all game seven to face Randle and the T-Wolves. That game is on ABC 36 News Now at 3:30 p.m.
