West Virginia man charged with trying to lure 13-year-old in Corbin: KSP
CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 21-year-old West Virginia man has been charged with trying to lure a 13-year-old Corbin girl, according to the Kentucky State Police.
Brian Ash was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday for stalking 1st degree, unlawful transaction with a minor 3rd degree, disorderly conduct 2nd degree, menacing, resisting arrest, criminal trespassing 3rd degree, endangering the welfare of a minor, distributing tobacco and vape products to minors, along with numerous traffic violations, the KSP said.
On the evening of May 30, troopers from Post 10 in Harlan received a call about an individual sitting in a blue Chevrolet Malibu at the office of Spider Creek Apartments in the Corbin community of Knox County.
Troopers say they located Ash when they arrived.
Initial investigation indicates Ash had been seen in the area for two day prior to troopers being notified. According to the KSP, witnesses told troopers Ash had tried to make contact with multiple juveniles in the area. One caller said he had contacted her 13-year-old daughter via Snap Chat and had located her using Maps on Snap Chat, the KSP said in a statement.
Investigation indicates Ash continued to follow the juvenile and continued to make attempts to contact her and lure her from her residence, according to the KSP.
The case is still under investigation by Tpr. Drew Wilson.
