Well-known Lexington restaurant slated to reopen, according to social media

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Azur Restaurant and Patio, a longtime staple in Lexington’s dining scene, is set to make a comeback after announcing its closure late last year.

According to a Facebook comment on a “Lexington Foodies” post from Sylvia Lovely, a partner in the restaurant, she and Bernie Lovely are working on the reopening with a yet-to-be-named partner.

Azur originally closed its doors after two decades, serving its final meal on New Year’s Eve 2024. At the time, ownership cited “circumstances beyond their control” as the reason for shutting down. However, recent social media posts suggest a revitalization of the beloved eatery, with more details expected to be revealed soon.

A sign our crews saw on the Azur location appeared to confirm the reopening.

“We are so excited and will have more news shortly,” Lovely wrote. “It is so rewarding to bring a place back that holds so many of your stories—the anniversaries, the first dates, the birthday parties, the gatherings of friends, and so much more.”

The reopening has generated a buzz among local food enthusiasts, many of whom expressed excitement on social media.

An official announcement, including details about the new ownership and potential changes to the restaurant, is expected in the coming weeks.
