Weekend Bomb Threat At Mercer County High School Cleared
Here is a copy of that letter:
"Dear Parents/Guardians,
There was a general bomb threat found in the restroom over the weekend at Mercer County Senior High School. Officers were dispatched to the high school to investigate the threat and determine if it was a credible threat to ensure our students’ safety. School officials and law enforcement followed district protocol implementing the school safety plan.
Local law enforcement and the Kentucky State Police were on site during the investigation. The Kentucky State Police did a sweep of the building and brought a bomb-sniffing dog on site to assist. Mercer County Senior High School takes every precaution regarding student safety and, in conjunction with law enforcement, took appropriate action. Harrodsburg Police Department, in conjunction with other agencies, are continuing an ongoing investigation. We have determined there is not any imminent danger, however, law enforcement will continue the investigation.
Any kind of information that could be brought to the school officials would be appreciated as law enforcement continues to investigate this case. The Mercer County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the individual(s) responsible for this crime. You may contact Harrodsburg Police Department or the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department. Information may be also reported on the S.T.O.P tipline on the district website, www.mercer.kyschools.us, which can be reported anonymously.
Again, Mercer County Senior High School, Mercer County School District and local law enforcement will implement all measures to ensure student safety.
Respectfully,
Malissa Hutchins,
Principal, Mercer County Senior High School"
