Weather leads to delayed start to OVC women’s tourney games

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — League officials have pushed back tipoff Thursday for the Ohio Valley Conference women’s tournament because of a winter storm expected to bring up to 2 to 5 inches of snow and sleet.

Belmont and Jacksonville State now will tip off at 1 p.m. Central instead of noon, pushing back Tennessee State and Morehead State to an estimated 3 p.m. tipoff.

OVC officials still plan to start the men’s quarterfinals as scheduled Thursday night with a shorter break between the women’s and men’s sessions.

But league officials caution further schedule changes could result if the storm is worse than expected.
