Weather, illness impacting schools
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – The threat of flooding and widespread illness forced some schools to dismiss early or cancel classes the rest of the week.
On Tuesday, Knox County and Clay County schools dismissed early due to the threat of flooding. Numerous rock and mud slides have been reported throughout eastern Kentucky, leading to the temporary closure of some roads.
Also, Russell County Schools cancelled classes the rest of the week due to illness. There will be non-traditional instruction (NTI) for all students.
Barbourville Independent cancelled classes Wednesday and Thursday. There will be NTI for all students.
