“We hit a plateau.”

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The quarterback position takes heat when things go wrong and typically gets praised when everything looks good.

The rough scrimmage for the football Cats last Saturday resulted in some QB negativity.

Thursday at practice was a different story.

Gunnar Hoak took the first reps; Terry Wilson next then Danny Clark.

It’s still any man’s job at this point.

Overall, the play looked better behind center with the media in the building to view the full practice.

Head man Mark Stoops weighs in on why the QB spot looked so good in the video.

There’s a ton of talent at linebacker for the Cats; guys like Kash Daniel, Josh Allen and Denzil Ware, the injured Jordan Jones, to name a few.

There’s some depth now with younger guys getting reps in the spring.

It’s not perfect, but new linebacker coach Brad White is excited about what’s to come.
It’s part of the reason he said UK was a great fit; the talent he’d be working with.

Despite a slight hiccup of late too.  Hear from White on the linebacker “plateau” in the video.

Kash Daniel is leaner, meaner and trimmer this spring.

His physical transformation is easily noticeable.

He’s gone from a big guy to losing maybe 8-10 pounds or so…and toning up.

How’d he do it and is he starting to see the benefits on the field?

Hear from Kash in the video.

UK’s “rolling ball of butcher knives” Phil Hoskins, as described by defensive line position coach Derrick LeBlanc, is loving his time in Lexington.

He’s back from shoulder injuries and feeling good and doesn’t mind stealing the show with the cameras in the house.

Hear from Hoskins on the improved d-line in the video.
