WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — A Monticello woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting her grandfather during a dispute over the use of his car, according to Wayne County Sheriff Tim Catron.
Deputies were called to a residence on American Legion Road around 5:43 p.m. on August 6 for an assault in progress. When they arrived, they found the victim—identified as the woman’s grandfather—bleeding from his injuries.
He told deputies his granddaughter became angry when he refused to let her use his car and then assaulted him. Wayne County EMS transported him to Wayne County Hospital for treatment.
Deputies later located the suspect, identified as Alisha Branham, in a separate residence on the same property. Authorities say she appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and that deputies saw illegal drugs and paraphernalia in plain view.
Branham was arrested and charged with:
-
Assault 4th Degree (Domestic Violence – Minor Injury)
-
Public Intoxication – Controlled Substance (Excludes Alcohol)
-
Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
-

She’s being held in the Wayne County Detention Center.
