Wayne County man charged after thousands in stolen fencing recovered, deputies say

WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Wayne County man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he stole several thousand dollars’ worth of fencing from a local business.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a tip about someone stealing fencing materials. After having the business review its inventory, officials discovered that several thousand dollars’ worth of fencing was missing.

Deputies say they were able to recover the stolen fencing and identify a suspect after interviewing multiple individuals. Authorities arrested 53-year-old Bobby Barnes at his home.

During the arrest, deputies say they also found three different types of illegal narcotics.

Barnes is charged with unlawful taking, criminal trespassing and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the Wayne County Detention Center.
