Wayne County man arrested after hiding in attic of home, sheriff says
WAYNE COUNTY, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Wayne County man is behind bars after deputies say he was found hiding in the attic of a home on Green Road.
According to Sheriff Tim Catron, deputies responded to the residence Thursday evening, October 2, after receiving a complaint about a man inside without permission. The homeowner confirmed to deputies that the suspect was inside.
Sheriff Catron says deputies recognized the man from a previous incident — he had been arrested on August 28 for trespassing at the same location. When deputies entered the home, they found him hiding in the attic.
The man, identified as Michael Perdue of Monticello, was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary. He was also served with a Wayne County District Court warrant for failure to pay or show cause on an underlying theft by unlawful taking charge.
Perdue is being held in the Wayne County Detention Center, according to the sheriff’s office.
