Wayne County man arrested after abandoned vehicle linked to construction company burglary

WAYNE COUNTY, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A Wayne County man is facing multiple charges after deputies say his abandoned vehicle helped lead them to a burglary at a local construction company.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies on Friday located a vehicle belonging to Ryan Jahnke on Canada Creek Road. Officials say the vehicle was abandoned with the door open and personal items scattered inside.

While deputies were searching the area for Jahnke, they received a separate call reporting tools stolen from a construction company.

Investigators say they were able to connect the two cases after finding a tool battery inside Jahnke’s abandoned vehicle that was identified as belonging to the construction company.

Deputies later found Jahnke coming out of the woods and took him into custody. He is facing multiple charges, including first-degree burglary.

Jahnke is currently being held at the Wayne County Detention Center.
