Water main break shuts down Leestown Road in both directions

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – Drivers are being asked to avoid part of Leestown Road due to a water main break that has forced a full closure.

According to @lexwrecks, Leestown Road is shut down in both directions between Lisle Industrial Avenue and South Forbes Road until further notice. Crews are working to address the water main break, but there is no estimated time yet for when the road will reopen.

Motorists traveling through the area will need to use Burke Road or South Forbes Road as alternate routes.

Drivers are urged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
