Some water customers in Lexington under boil water advisory
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Some Kentucky American customers in the Lexington area are under a boil water advisory.
Kentucky American says the boil advisory impacts customers in the Leestown Road corridor of Lexington outside New Circle Road bordered by Leestown Road, New Circle Road, Georgetown Road and Yarnallton Pike.
The advisory is due to a main break that occurred at Leestown Road and Opportunity Way Monday morning.
Crews are currently working to repair the break.
Kentucky American says unless notified otherwise, the boil water advisory will expire in 36 hours. The advisory was sent out at 1:25 p.m. Monday.
During a boil water advisory, it is recommended that customers boil for three minutes any tap water they intend to use for consumption, such as for drinking, cooking or making ice. After boiling water, customers should let the water cool before consuming it.
