Warren Co. man arrested after refusing to stop for deputies
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Warren Co. Sheriff says a man has been arrested on multiple charges for disobeying deputies who were attempting to conduct a traffic stop.
The Sheriff says it happened just before 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, when deputies tried to stop a Nissan Altima speeding on Scottsville and Wilson Roads. The driver of the Nissan, 46-year-old Shawn Spears, refused to stop, according to deputies, leading to a chase that included the Allen Co. Sheriff’s Department and the Scottsville Police Department.
Spears finally stopped just inside the Scottsville city limits at the intersection of Burnley Road and Bowling Green Road, but deputies say he wouldn’t exit his car when ordered to. the Sheriff says Spears had to be removed from the vehicle.
Spears was taken to the Warren Co. Regional Jail, and charged with speeding, reckless driving, wanton endangerment, along with DUI, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, fleeing and evading and 2 counts of possession.
