“Ware”ing out the opponent

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Denzil Ware gets a prayer text from his mom every gameday and reads it before the Cats leave the team hotel for the stadium.  It’s just part of Ware’s pregame routine.  And it must be doing something right, because Ware’s been starting games since his redshirt freshman season.

The sophomore has started all four games for UK this year, notching 17 total tackles and three sacks (4.5 tackles for loss in all).

Ware was a key component in the 17-10 Kentucky win over South Carolina in the team’s best defensive outing of the year.

What did head coach Mark Stoops think of his star end’s performance?  There’s always room for improvement.
