Walmart rolling out online grocery delivery in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Walmart is trying to make customer’s lives easier by rolling out its Online Grocery Delivery service to Lexington.

Nationwide, Lexington is the 18th area to get the grocery delivery service.

All you need to do is visit walmart.com/grocery or use the Walmart Grocery mobile app.

You enter your zip code and starting making your grocery list.

At checkout, customers will select a time for their orders to be delivered and pay the delivery fee.

Walmart’s trained personal shoppers will be filling the online delivery requests and all orders are backed by Walmart’s freshness guarantee.

When the order is ready, delivery partners will drive the order right to the customer’s location within the 1-hour delivery window selected by the customer.

Customers can use the promo code FRESHCAR, with a minimum order of $50, to get their first order free.

No subscription is required; customers just pay a fee of $9.95.

Retailers hope to expand the service beyond Lexington, with plants to roll out Online Grocery Delivery to 100 metro areas by the end of 2018.

Online Grocery Delivery is an extension of Walmart’s curbside pickup service, which is currently available at 6 stores in the Lexington area.
