Walmart to present more than $60,000 to Fisher House
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — Lexington-area Walmart associates will present a check for just over $62,000 to the Lexington Fisher House Saturday during the fourth annual Veterans VA5K.
The race will benefit the Lexington Veterans Affairs Medical Center and the Lexington Fisher House, which provides lodging for the families of veterans being treated at the medical center.
Walmart associates from several local stores came together to raise money for the Lexington Fisher House.
Keurig Dr Pepper, in coordination with Walmart and the Military Warrior Support Foundation, will also present retired U.S. Army National Guard Sergeant Shawn Riley, a local veteran, with a new vehicle.
The race starts at noon. Awards will begin around 1 pm. It will take place at the Lexington Veteran Affairs Medical Center on Leestown Road.
