Volunteers Reforest the Bluegrass

Many dedicated volunteers were happy to see that sunshine Saturday.

They spent the morning at Hisle Park for the 15th anniversary of Reforest the Bluegrass.

This is Lexington’s annual tree planting event.

Organizers say the goal is to plant more than 100 seedlings and restore 175 acres of forests that were once native to the Bluegrass.

Volunteers also were able to explore the park this morning as they took breaks from planting.
