Visitations this weekend for Father Norman Fischer
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 News Now) – A church community and a local high school are preparing to say their final goodbyes to Father Norman Fischer, a beloved Lexington priest who passed away unexpectedly on July 15th while on sabbatical in Delaware. He was 50 years old.
Father Norman Fischer served as the chaplain at Lexington Catholic High School and the pastor at St. Peter Claver Church. The Diocese of Lexington has announced that two visitations will be held this weekend to honor his memory.
The first visitation is scheduled for Saturday, from noon until 6 p.m., at Saint Peter Claver Church on West Fourth Street. A second visitation will take place on Sunday, from 3:30 p.m. until 8 p.m., also at Saint Peter Claver Church.
The funeral mass will be held on Monday morning at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of Christ the King on Colony Boulevard. For those unable to attend in person, the church has arranged for the funeral to be live-streamed.
The Lexington community mourns the loss of Father Norman, who was known for his dedication, compassion, and service to his parishioners and students.
