Violent weekend in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – It has been a busy weekend at the Lexington Police Department.
Officers responded to many shots fired calls.
Saturday night around 7:30, police think people were shooting out of cars at a house on Hanna Place near the Richmond Road Lowe’s.
Officers don’t think anyone was hurt, but they found some cars that got hit.
They haven’t identified any suspects yet.
Officers did arrest a suspect who’s accused of firing shots just before midnight on Creekside Court near Valley Park.
He is Andrew Heller.
Officers say he fired those shots because a loud party nearby was annoying him.
Just after 3:00 a.m. officers say they were responding to a shots fired call on Roosevelt Boulevard near the Lexington Cemetery when they found a man with a gunshot wound.
They say he was sitting in the front of a home.
He was sent to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
Police say they’re trying to figure out if that’s related to another earlier call they got about gunshots near there.
Just before 5 a.m. police went to Corral Street near the Lyric Theater.
They say there they found a house with some gunshot damage.
