Vigil planned for 10 year-old killed in hit & run, search continues for driver

SCIENCE HILL, Ky. (WTVQ) – It’s been a week since the death of 10-year-old Stanley Turner.

Police say Turner was the victim of a hit and run along Rock Lick Creek Road on June 20th.

The driver who hit Turner has not been found, according to investigators. Officials say Turner had been playing in a nearby creek with his brother before he was killed.

Investigators say they have been looking for a female driver of a red, four door car in connection to the case. They say the woman is not necessarily a ‘suspect’. Police say neighbors told them they saw the car the night Turner was killed and that it appeared out of place.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s office is asking anyone with more information about the hit and run to give them a call.

Monday a vigil is planned to honor Turner’s memory. It will be held at the Science Hill Post Office at 7:30 p.m. Donations will be collected at the vigil for the family. Organizers have also created vehicle decals in memory of turner.
