Vietnam veteran speaking at University of Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) – A Vietnam veteran is speaking next month at the University of Louisville about the war.
Retired Army Lt. Gen. Josiah Bunting III will speak Nov. 5 on “Forty Years Later: America at the End of the Vietnam War.”
The Vietnam War Commemoration Committee at U of L organized the event, which is part of the McConnell Center’s lecture series on “America at the End of War.”
Bunting, a Rhodes scholar, is an alumnus of and the 1995-2003 superintendent of Virginia Military Institute. While there, he oversaw enrollment of the school’s first female cadets.
U of L is a partner in the federal program to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.
Bunting will speak at 6 p.m. EDT in Chao Auditorium of Ekstrom Library. The discussion is free and open to the public.
