Vietnam memorial replica to be displayed in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington will be on display in central Kentucky next month.
The American Veterans Traveling Tribute Vietnam Wall will be at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington from July 9-12. The announcement was made Thursday by Lexington Mayor Jim Gray and state Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Heather French Henry.
Officials say there will be no admission or parking fee for people visiting the wall.
The replica is about 300 feet long. Like the Washington memorial, it displays the names of veterans who died during the war. Officials say those wanting to make pencil rubbings of the names of loved ones can do so on the traveling wall.
