Vietnam Memorial being dedicated in Louisville
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Three Medal of Honor recipients and other dignitaries will be on hand Tuesday in Louisville when a new Vietnam Memorial is dedicated at the base of the Big Four Bridge.
Organizers say the memorial will include a new 70-foot flagpole, a 15-foot flag and signs explaining the memorial’s history in Louisville.
The huge flag will fly 10 feet above the deck of the bridge.
Veterans Affairs Commissioner Heather French Henry and Kentucky Adjutant General Edward Tonini are among those expected to be on stage along with Medal of Honor recipients Hershel Williams, Ernest West and Don Jenkins.
