Videos, documents detail serial killer’s cold confessions
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — A man who killed seven people in South Carolina told investigators after he was arrested that they would be proud of how he shot four people dead in a motorcycle shop in 30 seconds.
Prosecutors released several videos, dozens of pictures and hundreds of pages of documents submitted last month when serial killer Todd Kohlepp pleaded guilty to seven counts of murder to avoid the death penalty. He was sentenced to life.
The videos include Kohlhepp’s emotionless, detailed confession to the four 2003 killings — deaths that remained unsolved until his arrest after a woman was found chained in a container on his Spartanburg County property in November.
There is video of the rescue with crews using bolt cutters and the woman quickly telling officers how her boyfriend was killed.
