Victims in suspected quadruple murder-suicide identified

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Five people killed in what investigators believe was a quadruple murder-suicide in Johnson County have been identified.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says the bodies of James Wayne Nickell and Arlene Nickell were discovered at a home in Flat Gap on Saturday.

Three more people were found dead at an apartment on Mill Street in Paintsville.

Authorities say they have been identified as Lindsay Vanhoose, Patricia Vanhoose and Joseph Nickell.

Investigators believe Joseph Nickell killed all four then turned the gun on himself.
