Victim of Barren County house fire identified
BARREN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Authorities have released the identity of a person found dead following a house fire in Barren County.
The Barren County Sheriff’s Office says the victim is 41-year-old James Barnes, of Smiths Grove.
According to the sheriff, the identification “was made under presumptive circumstances.” He says Barnes was the only known person living at the home.
Firefighters were called to the home at 960 Boatman Road in the Railton community around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday.
They located Barnes’ body after putting out the fire.
The sheriff says foul play is not suspected at this time.
