Versailles symposium assists veterans with employment options
VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ) — A focus on jobs today for veterans in Woodford County.
The second annual Veterans Employment and Training Symposium was held this afternoon at the Kentucky Community and Technical College System in Versailles.
Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman kicked off the event with a discussion on education and the push to hire more veterans and transitioning service members.
“As I think about the focus of today, I’m not sure there is another group that we owe more to than our veterans, and I’m not sure there’s a better way to serve our people than through education,” said Coleman.
KCTCS serves about 3,000 veterans and active military service members a year.
