Vandalized Northern Kentucky Police Memorial to be replaced

COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) — A Covington car dealership has offered to cover the cost of replacing the recently vandalized Northern Kentucky Police memorial.

The Kentucky Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1MaSWdy ) reports that Performance Lexus RiverCenter and its general manager, Lisa Bernstein, announced the donation Friday, according to the memorial group’s Facebook page.

Police say the memorial at the foot of the Roebling Suspension Bridge in Covington was vandalized the night of July 14. One of the memorial’s headstone-like, stone structures was toppled and broken into several large chunks.

Each of the three stone markers at the memorial cost $3,000 to install, according to police.

No arrests have been made in connection with the vandalism.

A donation from an anonymous business will be used to install security cameras at the memorial, officials announced in the Facebook post.
