Valley View Ferry only open 2-hours Wednesday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Valley View Ferry will only be open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. this Wednesday, October 26, 2016.

After 8:00 a.m., the ferry will be closed for the day due to a Lexington Police and Lexington Fire Department matter, according to the city.

The paddlewheel ferry is set to reopen on its regular schedule on Thursday.

The ferry shuttles vehicles across the Kentucky River between Madison and Jessamine counties.

It began operations in 1785.
