Utica man arrested for DUI and drugs after traffic stop
OWENSBORO, Ky. (WTVQ)- A man was arrested after a KSP trooper found a meth pipe with residue during a traffic stop.
The trooper conducted the traffic stop around 9:30 PM, Monday on US 231, south of Owensboro.
The trooper made the traffic stop because of a traffic violation, but when the trooper approached the driver, he suspected him to be under the influence.
The driver, 37 year-old Joseph Cart of Utica, got out of the vehicle and the trooper began investigating.
The trooper located a methamphetamine pipe with suspected crystal methamphetamine residue inside.
Carter was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine (1st offense), possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence (3rd offense, aggravated), and speeding 24 miles-per-hour over the limit.
