UPDATE: UPS worker in deadly accident identified

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- We now know the name of the man who died on the job at UPS Tuesday afternoon.

The coroner has identified him as 43-year-old Anthony Schanding. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Clark Funeral Home in Carlisle, Kentucky.

The Lexington Police Department says a UPS worker injured on the job Tuesday afternoon has died.

Police say the 43-year-old man was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

His name has not been released.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A UPS employee suffered critical injuries in an accident Tuesday.

The Lexington Police Department says emergency crews were called to the facility on Mercer Road just before 12 p.m.

According to police, the employee was servicing a piece of equipment when he was injured.

Police say he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

There is no word on what led up to the accident.

Police say the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been notified about the accident.
