UPDATE: Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Putting Newborn In Garbage Bag
A woman accused of trying to kill her newborn baby pleaded not guilty in court Wednesday in Winchester.
Police said Cassaundra Haney gave birth in her toilet.
Officers said Haney left the newborn there for about 15 minutes, then put him in a garbage bag.
According to investigators, Haney’s roommate heard the baby, found him in the bag and called 911.
Police said Haney told them she did not know she was pregnant.
