UPDATE: Victims identified in deadly I-64 crash; driver charged with Reckless Homicide

SHELBYVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Police released the name of the woman who was killed in a five-vehicle collision on Interstate 64 in Shelby County on Wednesday.  The man who’s accused of causing the accident was charged with Reckless Homicide, Wanton Endangerment and a Communication Device Violation.

State Police say 71-year old Doris E. Wise of Louisville was killed when the car she was driving westbound on I-64 at mile marker 35 was rear ended by a tractor-trailer driven by 22-year old Miroslav Kuzmanovic of Lakewood, Washington.  Wise’s car burst into flames due to the force of the impact, according to investigators.  Wise was pronounced dead at the scene. 

State Police say the impact triggered a chain reaction crash.  Investigators say Wise’s car hit a truck driven by 52-year old Roger Barnes of Irvine.  The truck collided with an SUV operated by 40-year old David Corsaro of Putnam, West Virginia.  State Police say Corsaro’s vehicle collided with a car driven by 54-year old Terry Vutterly of Barbourville.  

Investigators say David Corsaro, Terry Vutterly and his passenger, Christopher Vutterly, were treated and released from Shelbyville Jewish Hospital.  The truck driver accused of causing the deadly wreck, Miroslav Kuzmanovic, was taken to the Shelbyville Detention Center where he was held without bond, according to State Police.  The accident remains under investigation.
