Update: Vehicle of interest found, but Lexington teens still missing and possibly in danger; Bluegrass Crime Stoppers offers 5K reward

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Bluegrass Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward (2,500 for each individual) for information leading to the whereabouts of Aoun Ismail Basboos, 15 and Ali Haider Naqvi, 16.

Lexington Police say they’ve found the vehicle of interest connected to the disappearance of two missing teens, but the search for the boys continues.

Officers located the white Acura ILX at the Loradale Market on Russell Cave Road Thursday. That’s the same vehicle 15-year-old Basboos and 16-year-old Naqvi were seen getting into last Sunday evening around the time of a shots-fired call on Spangler Drive.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office and Lexington Fire Department also responded to the scene, but officials have not released any additional details about the vehicle’s condition or what was found inside.

The teens are still missing and considered to be in danger. Aoun Basboos is 5’7” and 130 pounds with a scar on his right arm. He was last seen wearing a red jacket. Ali Naqvi is 6’2” and around 210 pounds, last seen wearing a black jacket.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — The Lexington Police Department is urgently searching for two missing teenagers who are believed to be in imminent danger and may be connected to a shots-fired investigation.

Authorities say 15-year-old Aoun Ismail Basboos and 16-year-old Ali Haider Naqvi were last seen on May 11, 2025, around 5:50 p.m. getting into the back seat of a white 2020 Acura ILX with Kentucky license plate N9D006. The vehicle was spotted in the 3300 block of Spangler Drive and is also considered a vehicle of interest in a nearby shots-fired incident.

The Acura was last seen around 6:30 p.m. that same evening on Hume Bedford Road in Bourbon County.

Basboos is 5’7” and weighs about 130 pounds. He has a scar on his right arm and was wearing a red jacket when last seen.

Naqvi is 6’2” and weighs around 210 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket.
