UPDATE: Two people dead after plane crash in Western Kentucky

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ/AP)-  Officials have removed human remains from the site of a Friday plane crash in Hopkinsville to send for autopsies.

The Christian County Emergency Management director tells ABC 36 there were two people on board the single-engine plane, and both have died. The identities of the two victims have not been released.

A spokeswoman for the FAA says the plane crashed at about 12:30 p.m. Friday as it headed from Iowa to Alabama.

The spokeswoman also says Fort Campbell airfield communicators were in vocal contact with the plane, but lost radar contact soon after.
