UPDATE: Three people arrested at home where shot was fired during break-in
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police say three people who were home during a reported break-in where a gunshot was fired, were arrested on drug charges after a search warrant was executed at the home.
This began with a burglary and shot fired call at a home in the 3000 block of High Ridge Drive in Lexington shortly after 1:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2017.
The three people in the home told police someone broke a glass door, got into the home, went upstairs and fired a shot. The three people in the home told officers they were able to hide and were not hurt. No one has been arrested in the break-in.
While investigating that, officers and detectives from the Narcotics Enforcement unit executed a search warrant at the home. Investigators say that’s when they found 4.25 pounds of marijuana and more than $7,800 in cash.
The three people who were in the home at the time of the reported break-in were arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Lexington Police.
They were identified by police as 23-year old Bilal “Ali” Alijabbouri, 21-year old Jadallah Omran, and 22-year old Jessica Rector. All three suspects were lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
