Update: Suspect charged with murder and assault in Whitney Avenue Shooting

(LEXINGTON, Ky,) – Lexington Police say Jermaine Anderson is now charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Montez Graves, Sunday.

Court documents reveal that Anderson, 21, fired several shots into a parked car on Whitney Avenue. Authorities say Graves was in the vehicle and was fatally wounded. Another person in the car was also hit and seriously injured, according to police.

Police say they arrested Anderson on Sunday for other offenses. Anderson was additionally charged with murder and first-degree assault on Wednesday. He is scheduled to face these charges on Thursday at 1 p.m.
